Research Positions
UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES: The laboratory of Scott Strobel has one research position available to a student with an interest in nucleic acid synthesis, biochemistry or biophysics. This position will be for research credit during the school year and can be extended to a paid position during the summer. The student will work under the supervision of a senior graduate student or postdoctoral associate in the lab. Research projects in several areas are available. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES: One postdoctoral associate position is currently available in the laboratory. Special attention will be given to candidates with a background in nucleic acid biochemistry or nucleoside bioorganic chemistry with an interest in exploring the mechanism of the peptidyl transferase reaction. As much as one year of internal funding is available for the position. Candidates are strongly encouraged to apply for their own financial support. Candidates must have completed all requirements for their Ph.D. by the date in which they begin. Additional positions will become available at later times.
